There are more drivers on the road now than ever. In order to retain information and fully immerse yourself into the world of driving, one lesson a week is not enough to gain the experience that comes with consistent driving.

It takes 120 hours of driving experience for a learner driver to acquire a licence and may take more for the driver to feel confident in their skills. Attempting to cram classroom learning and driver hours into one hour per week may not be the ideal solution. That’s 120 weeks of instruction with minimal information learned in each session.

How Driving Can Help Stop The Spread

Limit your exposure to COVID-19 by avoiding public transport

Unfortunately, public transport has become a high-risk activity in 2020. COVID-19 droplets have been seen to remain airborne for as long as three hours, as well as detectable on surfaces for as long as 72 hours. While Transport NSW has taken steps to increase the safety of Sydney’s trains and buses, the enormous scale of the operation makes social distancing incredibly difficult.

Transport Minister Andrew Constance has urged that “when it comes to public transport, we know it is a high risk area and that’s why I’m urging people to walk, ride their bike, drive a car if they have to get out and about”.
