Steps to become an instructor

Step 1

Obtain your Letter of Eligibility from Service NSW.

Step 2

Obtain a Certificate IV in Transport and Logistics (this is the qualification that all NSW professional driving instructors must have). This can be done through Trent Education, our tailored Certificate IV program where you’ll be instructed by LTrent’s Master Driver Trainers.

The LOE is a written confirmation from the RMS that you meet the various eligibility requirements to hold an instructor’s licence.

Approx length of course

2 – 6 months. As a portion of the course is delivered online, you have the ability to go at your speed and in your own time.
